Help!: I want shiny hair!

I need help with shine!!

The kinkier the hair the less shine because the cuticles do not lay flat. It's very difficult for the natural oils to reach the ends of every strand. This goes for 4A type hair, like myself.

I really hate not having shine because my hair looks so dry even if it isn't. I don't want it to look like I have a tumbleweed on my head. :\ I'll style my hair with oils and such to have shine but by the end of the day the shine is no longer there & when I do certain styles, I can't mess with my hair too much or I'll have frizz. It's really hard for me to oil and moisturize my hair without messing up the curls once a style is complete.

What can I do to achieve more shine that's longer lasting?

  1. What I do is take a mixture of shea butter and coconut oil to my hair every night and sleep with it in. After I wash my hair, sometimes I put the mix in on the soaking wet hair.

  5. I've been trying to figure this out too but what seems to work best for me is using Jamaican Black Castor Oil as soon as I finish washing. It seems to give my high sheen and seals my hair pretty well too

  6. try mixing alma powder, brahmi powder, neem powder, shikaki powder, and henna powder with green tea. let the mix sit for a day depending on what henna mix you choose. After apply to hair and let sit for about 8-24 hours then wash out mix with a good conditioner. Preferably an organic one that possesses nothing with the name cone in the ingredients. Then moisturize hair with canto Shea butter or curls milkshake and put in a protective style. The shine will occur miraculously!!!!!
